# PCRemotely > Remote desktop and remote support software for Windows, Linux and the browser. Peer-to-peer over WebRTC with a 4:4:4 color pipeline, no port forwarding, and no time limits on the free plan. Current version: 2.5.1. Vendor: Roger Perez (United States). ## What it does - Attended remote control: the person being helped runs the app, reads out a 9-digit ID and a one-time password, and the technician connects. Nothing to install on a firewall and no port forwarding. - Unattended access to machines you own, with a permanent password. - File transfer, clipboard sync, chat, stereo audio and MP4 session recording. - 4:4:4 color: full chroma, so small colored text (code, spreadsheets, CAD) stays sharp. Most competitors subsample to 4:2:0 and blur it. - PCRemotely Network (paid plans): reach devices on the client's LAN — a router admin panel, a NAS, a printer, an internal web app — through the same encrypted session, as local port forwards or a SOCKS5 proxy. No VPN, no driver, no admin rights. The owner of the remote machine must approve it in a separate consent dialog, sees a permanent on-screen indicator with a cut button, and access dies with the session. ## How it is built - Media, input, files and the network bridge all travel over WebRTC DataChannels encrypted with DTLS. Keys are negotiated per session and never leave the two devices. - The signalling server pairs the two ends and does not see session content. When a direct peer-to-peer connection is impossible, a TURN relay forwards packets it cannot read. - The session password is validated on the host and is never stored on the server. It does pass through the signalling server over TLS during pairing and is discarded immediately; replacing that step with a challenge is on the roadmap. We say this plainly rather than claiming zero-knowledge. ## Plans ### Free — free forever For: Personal use. - Unlimited session length (no time cutoffs) - 4:4:4 color video, file transfer, chat and stereo audio - 1 unattended machine - In-app affiliate banner ### Pro — $4.99/month or $49/year (USD) For: IT professionals and freelancers. - Everything in Free, with no ads - Unlimited unattended machines - Synced address book and favourites - MP4 session recording - PCRemotely Network: reach the client's LAN through the session (1 subnet, 16 simultaneous TCP connections, 2 GB per session, 20 GB per 30 days) ### Team — $12.99 per user/month or $129 per user/year (USD) For: Support teams and MSPs. - Everything in Pro - Central admin console and session audit trail - Role-based access control - PCRemotely Network without per-session caps (8 subnets, 64 streams, unlimited traffic) ## Platforms - Windows 10/11 64-bit — installer. - Linux (X11) — one-line installer or AppImage. - Browser — HTML5 viewer, nothing to install. - macOS — not released yet. ## Links - Home (English): https://pcremotely.com/ - Home (Spanish): https://pcremotely.com/es/ - Downloads: https://pcremotely.com/downloads (Spanish: https://pcremotely.com/es/downloads) - Browser viewer: https://pcremotely.com/web-viewer - Support: https://pcremotely.com/support - Account and billing: https://pcremotely.com/account ## Machine-readable data - Product, plans and platforms as JSON: https://pcremotely.com/api/public/product.json - Latest version and installer SHA-256: https://pcremotely.com/api/updates/check?platform=windows ## Honest limits - The Windows installer is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen shows a warning on first run. - Linux support is X11 only; Wayland is not supported yet. - There is no macOS build available to the public yet. - The LAN bridge moves roughly 57 Mbps on a direct connection and 17 Mbps through a relay: plenty for admin panels, SSH and RDP, not for copying large folders.
